450 & 452 Remove the throttle body

There aren't really that many reasons for removing the throttle body from a 599/698cc engine but if you want to, you'll need to do the following.

Tools required: 8mm socket, a short socket extender, flat head screwdriver.

  1. Remove the upper intercooler pipe going from the intercooler to the throttle body by undoing the jubilee clips.
  2. Undo the 2x bolts at the top.
  3. Undo the electrical connector by pressing the two tabs in and then pulling away from the body, which can be tight.
  4. Undo the 2x bolts below the intake. A small socket extender might have been useful here as it can be a bit of a faff with the lower intercooler pipe. The one closest to the engine...
  5. ...and the one closest to you. You may need to catch the body from falling if isn't well stuck on.
  6. You'll end up with 4 bolts like this. Keep them safe.
  7. Pull the body off the manifold if it is stuck on.
  8. This green gasket can be kept on the manifold but make sure it is seated properly before the throttle body goes back on.

As ever, installation is the reverse of the removal.
